Familiar for her refreshingly honest insight into ‘white privilege’, diversity and the LGBT+ community, Munroe Bergdorf has proven herself as the brave and bold voice our society needs.
Munroe was the first transgender model to be selected to take part in a national beauty campaign, a project that would promote diversity and inclusiveness. But when her views on systemic racism were sold to the press and became an international news story, the brand decided to end their partnership.
She joins Feeld Talks to discuss her dating experiences as a trans woman of colour and talk about systemic racism, the social constructs of 'whiteness' and 'blackness' and how she believes these constructs can affect our choices when it comes to selecting partners. She will be in conversation with Feeld Community Manager and activist, Cathy Keen, addressing the question of whether it is possible to unlearn subconscious prejudices and open ourselves to the possibility of romantically and sexually relating to 'others'.
Join us for a complimentary drinks reception from 19:00 at the Curtain Hotel.
Guests will be greeted at hotel entrance by a Feeld host. Please take lift to floor -2 and follow FEELD signs to Screening Room.
The discussion will begin at 19.30, followed by a Q&A and post-talk social at The Curtain’s Red Rooster bar.
