How to create the perfect Feeld profile

ByFeeld·November 3, 2023

A thoughtful profile is a compelling profile. Here’s how to build a 🔥 one.

While putting together a bio can be daunting, it can also be an interesting exercise in self-reflection. But what works on Feeld compared to other apps? We have the insight, so here’s our guide for creating a stand-out profile on Feeld.

Take a step back and reflect

Before you start writing, look inward.

Think about the things that make you you, things you connect with others on, and your unique qualities and hobbies. But also, what are you hoping to find on Feeld? Love? Friends? Casual connections?

If you’re new to non-traditional relationships, hooking up, kink, or self-exploration, consider starting your Feeld journey with Reflections: a self-discovery tool developed by Feeld and The University of Michigan.

Write (something!) in your bio

Having something written in your bio greatly increases your chances of making connections. Even a few sentences go a long way compared to leaving it blank. That said—it’s best to go for gold!

Jot down the things you want to highlight about yourself. Don’t worry about being word-perfect on the first pass; just get it out. Then refine it into the story you want to tell, while keeping these super important points in mind:

Be authentic

Be honest with yourself, then be honest with the people on Feeld. It’s cliché to say “just be authentic,” but it really does get results.

Show off your sunny side in the main bio. Then, if you want to go deeper, use your hidden bio to open up about your dark side (whatever that means to you).

Be specific

Be clear and specific about who you are and what you're looking for.

  • Don’t say “I like being active”; say what activities you like to do.
  • Don’t say “I like to read”; name the books and genres you’re into.
  • Don’t say you want “fun”; describe the scenario or dynamic you’re looking for.

Personal details help people get to know you and give them strong conversation starters.

Be respectful

Your desires are important, but not more important than the safety and comfort of others on Feeld. Your bio is a place to open up, but it’s not somewhere to be offensive or try to shock people.

Read our community guidelines to learn more about what’s appropriate for Feeld.

With consent, you can share your more unfiltered thoughts and desires in chats. But on profile, keep it enticing, not graphic or rude.

Choose photos thoughtfully

Photos have a huge impact on getting noticed on Feeld, and it’s where a lot of people can hold themselves back. Here are a few things you should know:

  • Recent, well-lit photos are best.
  • Faceless profiles get far less attention.
  • Nudity, celeb photos, and pics of children (even your kids) are prohibited.

A few confident selfies are a good place to start, but action shots do very well on Feeld! Find (or take) some pics of you engaging in your favorite activities.

Read our image guidelines for your profile to see what’s allowed, what’s not, and find more photo gallery tips.

Tag interests and desires

Writing in your bio allows you to get ultra personal. But you can also tag specific desires and interests on your profile—to give people an overview of what you’re into.

On Feeld, interests refer to your passions outside the bedroom. You can type anything you want into this field, whether it’s gardening, gaming, or gothic architecture. Interests offer a snapshot of who you are as a person but, unlike desires, they aren’t used to filter your search.

Desires express what you’re looking for in intimacy, connection, and exploration. These are chosen from a set of ever-evolving options in the app, and can be used to filter your search and find connections aligned with your preferences. There are currently 30+ desires to choose from, covering everything from kink and fantasy, to group dynamics and friendship.

When you have a desire in common with somebody else, this will be highlighted as a shared desire—allowing others to easily gauge overlapping exploration.

Read our guide to interests and desires to discover more about how they work, and how to use them.

Add partners to your Constellation

Exploring with others? Link their profile to yours as part of your Constellation. You can add up to 5 of your partners’ profiles, and select the label that best describes their relationship to you—whether they’re a primary partner, metamour, or FWB. This allows members to see your existing relationships (of any kind) and view your partners’ profiles.

Get feedback and iterate

Grab a friend, partner, FWB, or priest and ask them for unfiltered feedback on your profile. But be prepared for both compliments and critiques.

Your profile isn’t “set it and forget it.” Review it regularly and polish. As you evolve, your profile should too.
