Mal Journal

A journal of sexuality and erotics creating new ground for writing about sex, gender, race & LGBTQ+ issues.

Launched in November 2018 at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London, Mal is a journal publishing the most incisive writing about sexuality and eroticism. Initiated and supported by Feeld, Mal operates with full editorial independence and without ads. 

Published both digitally and in print, each issue includes a selection of original essays, fiction and poetry, and is accompanied by readings and events with current and future contributors.  

Mal was commended for Best Original Fiction in the 2019 Stack Awards and has partnered with the ICA London, Serpentine Galleries and Tate Modern, among others. Previous contributors include Anne Boyer, CAConrad, Sheila Heti, Bhanu Kapil, Chris Kraus, Rachel Long, Eileen Myles, Victoria Sin and Natasha Stagg.
