There are fresh delights to be found on Feeld, with our latest app update welcoming you into a redesigned world.
We’ve launched upgraded visuals, shared desires, in-app glossary definitions, and improved search settings—all with the goal of helping you to find more meaningful connections, and unlock more opportunities for self-discovery.
Let’s take a look at the update through the lens of the people who know it best: Feeld’s designers—including explanations on the process behind the redesign, in their own words.
Give us a TLDR of the Feeld app redesign...
Vlad Zely, Head of Product Design: “TLDR—Feeld is evolving. We’ve redesigned the app to feel more intentional—more expressive, more stable, and more in tune with how you connect. With a bold new look, shared desires, tappable glossary cards, and updated filters, everything is built to help you discover more.”
What was the ethos behind the new design?
Nyomi, Brand Design Lead: “As Feeld continues to evolve, we consistently ensure our design thinking is rich with intention and aligned with our mission: elevating the human experience of sexuality and relationships. [We’re] crafting something that is vividly expressive like our people, and joyfully supportive. We’re beyond excited to provide our members an experience in-app that mirrors the spirit of the communities we serve.”
Vlad: “We aimed to create a visual realm that better holds and reflects the beauty, nuance, and layered complexity of our members’ inner worlds. It was an exercise in bringing the brand promise into the digital platform, aligning them more closely, and establishing a solid foundation for continued evolution as a product—supporting self-discovery and centering curiosity.”
Natalie Lewendon, Senior Content Designer: “This wasn’t just a design update, but a chance to close the gap between how our brand feels and the way the app looks and sounds.
“From a product writing perspective, we spent a lot of time making sure the words we use in the app were clearer, more welcoming, and more in tune with our community. For example, we’ve supplied new in-app definitions for genders, sexualities, and other terms that members often tell us they need help figuring out, especially when they’re still new here.
“I also worked closely with our translators so that language that’s specific and important to our community—like ‘polyamory,’ ‘kink,’ and ‘switch,’ for example—didn’t get watered down in the languages we translated the app into. It’s about being more consistent and thoughtful in how we show up.”
What's your favorite part of the app redesign?
Nyomi: “My favorite parts of the app redesign are the new features we were able to get into the hands of our members. At Feeld, we believe in journeys and not destinations, and we’re consistently seeking better ways to support our people and enable meaningful connection.
“We’ve introduced shared desires, a new way of quickly surfacing commonalities in Discover. In reconsidering the sign-up flow [for new members], we’ve surfaced community guidelines at the forefront so newcomers are better equipped. We’ve also provided our glossary now in-app for anyone who may still be wondering, ‘what’s demisexual?’. Additionally, I personally love the new cool color palette that feels both playful and demure.”
Natalie Shaw, Senior Content Designer: “I love the new glossary, and how inclusively it's written—for folks familiar with the wide range of terms, and those newer to particular concepts. It's a great way to get curious and also put words around your own identity and what you're looking for.”
How do Feeld members inspire your design process?
Nyomi: “In interviews and conversations with our members, we consistently find parallels. Our people have described their experiences on Feeld as transformative, enlightening, and self-revealing. We’ve distilled this research into a powerful brand strategy that informed our every decision. Our brand directives became visual principles that took shape in the form of dimensional navigation, an expanded color palette, chunky shapes, contrasting forms, and celebratory moments of connection. Together, our new Product Design System reflects the fluidity of our community and the joy of finding one’s self along the way.”
Natalie S: “We care deeply about creating consent-forward spaces and helping the conversation between members flow. We design for a spectrum of connection, providing the space and tools for our members. But we're not the main character, and want to strike the right balance between helping the conversation flow and just getting out of people's way.”
Natalie L: “I have many friends who are members, and I also meet people out in the world who, when they find out I work at Feeld, can’t wait to tell me about their experiences. I live for these conversations!
“I also want to give a big shout out to the community. Feeld has always been shaped by queer, non-monogamous, kinky people. The app wouldn’t exist without them, and my work wouldn’t make sense without them either. They’re why we’ve put time and effort into making our language clearer, and redesigning our user journeys to be more inclusive—making no assumptions about who someone is and what they’re looking for.”
What were members most excited about when you tested new designs with them?
Nathan Studholme, Head of Product: “We saw a strong, positive response to the introduction of glossary cards explaining terms related to sexualities and desires—contributing to a more informed, inclusive community.
Members also welcomed the ability to view shared desires, making it easier to identify common ground and turn mutual interests into meaningful connections.
We’ve made broader improvements to the discovery experience as well, with members noticing the enhanced flow and ease of use. The updated search settings are designed to offer greater clarity and support more intentional exploration.”
Describe Feeld's app redesign in a word…
Victor, Senior Product Designer: “Punchy!”
Vlad: “Sensual.”
Daniel Gogov, Senior Product Designer: “Unapologetic.”
Natalie L: “Purposeful.”
Nyomi: “Expressive.”
Natalie S: “Possibility.”
What's your favorite aspect of design to work on?
Victor: “For me, it's all the detailed work that comes between the initial creative experimentations and the implementation by engineers. There is so much to do to ensure that the app is consistent across screens. We need to very carefully use and tweak elements and colors so that everything is clear, and usable in a variety of conditions and by most people. This includes caring about accessibility for people with color blindness or low vision, but also making sure the app works great on different device sizes and in different languages.”
Daniel: “It’s a tie between the exploration phase and the refinement phase. In the exploration phase, everything is still possible. You’re trying to make sense of the problem, exploring different directions, and shaping what the solution could be, with emphasis on could. That ambiguity can be a little daunting at times, but also highly rewarding. In the refinement phase, things are more concrete. It becomes about polishing the details, pushing pixels, and bringing the vision to life. It’s the part where we designers get to indulge our natural (and not always healthy) tendency to obsess.”
What's next for Feeld's evolution?
Nathan: “The app redesign lays a strong foundation for us to elevate members’ experiences even further. We're committed to ongoing improvements and are actively investing in key areas, including:
- Bug fixes, stability, and performance: We hear you. These are recurring concerns from our community, and addressing them remains a top priority.
- A smarter discovery experience: Designed to fuel your curiosity while giving you greater control to tailor connections to your preferences.
- Stronger community features: We're building new ways for members to connect, interact, and engage meaningfully.
- More ways to express yourself: Helping you show up authentically and share your true self with others on the platform.
- Improved safety tools: Implementing smarter systems to detect and remove bots and bad actors, ensuring a safer space for all.
“Our teams are continuously evolving the app, and there’s so much more to come throughout the rest of 2025. Stay tuned.”
